Here’s 3 reasons why you should buy Amber Bullock’s “So In Love” album…

1.  She’s an artist. -The transition from singing live on a television show, to being an artist in the studio and working on an album hasn’t been easy for many coming from shows like Sunday Best, American Idol, The Voice and X Factor.  Not being a stranger to the studio, her artistry is all up and down this album.  This woman knows what she is doing.  She wrote/co-wrote a few of the songs on the album (Lord You’ve Been So Good, Done For Me & Same God) and is great with lyrics and story-telling.  She comes off very personal and intimate, something (in my opinion) that was missing at times when she was on Sunday Best.   Listening to the album we get the real deal Amber Bullock.  She’s so open, honest and connective to her listeners.   Even with the songs she didn’t write, the connection between her and the passion she sings the words with, conjures up feel-good emotions and thought-provoking moments. It’s great to not only hear but feel the creativity put into making this album.  It’s easy to forget that she came out of a singing competition/reality show, great quality production and effort put in to making this album a superb musical offering.

2. She can sing. -I mean she won Sunday Best for a reason!  Though I didn’t vote for her, there was NO denying that this woman can sing!  She had me wowed quite a few times during her run on Sunday Best and I was surprisingly shocked at how much I loved the release of “Thank You” the EP.  She knows how to use her instrument.  You can tell that the riffs, runs and jazzy flavor is something that comes natural to her.  She isn’t afraid to take risks, Amber can just SING! So much passion, so much emotion and depth in her vocal abilities. She’s a great vocalist!

3. She’s diverse.  -If you haven’t heard the album yet,  I think you will be surprised (as I was) with all of the different sounds on the album.  Amber gives us Classical, Jazz, R&B, Gospel (traditional & contemporary, CCM), Pop, and Reggae elements on the album.  There’s something for everybody.  The tracks may differ, but play off of each other well and keep the album from becoming boring. The diversity of the tracks also lend to showcase the diverse nature Amber has acquired in her time of being a vocalist.  I had no idea that all of that was in her!  She isn’t people pleasing in the variety of sounds you hear on the album, just to gain an audience across the board.  Everything comes off genuine and well thought out, she truly is a fan of music!  I feel like we really (finally) get to know who Amber Bullock is.

Overall, So In Love is a great album.  I was surprised by sound of the album, as I was curious as to what Amber would give us after the release of her EP.  I really like So In Love, it’s simple, entertaining, thought-provoking and as she stated in my interview with her, leaves you feeling like you’ve just been on a really good date!  My faves are Lord You’ve Been So Good, So In Love, Same God, Second Chances and Take It Back.  Make sure to pick up the album available in stores everywhere and on all online markets!
